HTA submissions for NICE, SMC and AWMSG.

Company evidence submissions for England, Scotland and Wales, prepared by a team led by a former NICE HTA Technical Lead and Analyst. We write for the committee that will read it.

Three systems, one launch plan

A UK launch usually means more than one HTA submission. NICE guidance covers England and Wales, the Scottish Medicines Consortium makes separate decisions for Scotland, and the All Wales Medicines Strategy Group (AWMSG) appraises medicines that NICE is not evaluating. Each body has its own forms, timelines, committees and expectations of the economic model.

We plan the three together. One evidence base, one model architecture and one set of clinical assumptions, adapted to each committee, saves time and avoids contradictions that assessors will notice. Explore each system in depth: NICE technology appraisal in England, SMC submissions in Scotland and AWMSG submissions in Wales.

What we deliver

  • Decision problem and scoping responses, including comparators, populations and outcomes
  • The company evidence submission, written to the NICE template
  • De novo or adapted cost-effectiveness models, typically in Excel/VBA or R
  • Clinical systematic literature reviews, indirect treatment comparisons and network meta-analyses
  • Survival analysis and extrapolation in line with NICE Decision Support Unit guidance
  • Responses to clarification questions and to the External Assessment Group report
  • Technical engagement, draft guidance responses and committee meeting preparation
  • Managed access and commercial arrangement proposals
  • SMC submissions, including PACE meeting preparation, and AWMSG submissions

How we work

  1. Early review: We test the evidence package against what a committee will ask, and identify gaps while there is still time to close them.
  2. Build: Model, systematic review, indirect comparisons and the written submission are built by the same senior team.
  3. Respond: Clarification questions and the assessment report usually come with tight deadlines. We plan for them from the start.
  4. Committee: We prepare your team for the meeting and support the response to draft guidance.

Why Evidaxia

Our founder worked inside NICE as an HTA Technical Lead and Analyst on technology appraisals and HealthTech guidance. We know which uncertainties drive committee decisions, how External Assessment Groups critique models, and where submissions lose credibility. That experience shapes every model and every page we write.

HTA submission
“We needed a submission that would meet the committee's evidence standards on a tight timeline. The economic case was clear, the clinical arguments were grounded in the evidence, and clarification questions were answered quickly. The appraisal reached a positive recommendation.”

FAQ

Common questions

Anything else? Email info@evidaxia.com.

Do we need separate submissions for England, Scotland and Wales?

Usually yes. NICE technology appraisal guidance applies in England and Wales, but Scotland has its own process through the SMC. AWMSG appraises medicines in Wales that NICE is not evaluating. We plan all three from one evidence base.

When should we start preparing a NICE submission?

As early as possible. Gaps in comparative evidence or long-term data are far easier to address a year or more before marketing authorisation than during the appraisal. An early review of the evidence package is usually the best first step.

Do you support resubmissions and responses to draft guidance?

Yes. We support clarification responses, technical engagement, draft guidance consultations and resubmissions, including revised economic analyses.

Can you work alongside our in-house team or another agency?

Yes. We often take on a defined part of the work, such as the economic model, the indirect comparisons or a quality review of the full submission.
